Road Patrol



The County Road Patrol is the primary police agency for 24 townships and the villages of White Cloud, Fremont , Hesperia and Grant. The total area policed comprises approximately 940 square miles. The County Road Patrol is comprised of 1 Lieutenant,; 4 uniformed Patrol Sergeants, who not only supervise but handle calls for service; 21 uniformed Deputies. These Deputies include; two Court Officers and one Deputy (funded through the Office of Highway and Safety Planning), whose patrol activities are limited to accidents and traffic-related enforcement.. One Detective also serves to support the road patrol unit and investigate major crimes.

Our goal is to continue to provide excellent service and guarantee the safety of the citizens of Newaygo County. We are exploring ways of still offering excellent service, while reducing some non-essential services which we now provide.
