Dive/Rescue Marine
Division
The Newaygo County Marine Division operates on a
grant from the Michigan Department of Natural
Resources and funding from the County. The purpose
of the Marine Division is to educate boat operators
and promote safe boating practices in Newaygo
County.
This
reporting period found the Marine Divisions focus
predominantly on safety education. Many attendees
were between 12 and 16 years old. They benefited by
obtaining their Boating Safety Certificates, which
allows them to operate a boat or a personal
watercraft without direct adult supervision.
