Equalization Department The Equalization Department was assigned the responsibility for issuing house numbers for Newaygo County in 2008. Besides issuing new house numbers, the Department also re-assigns numbers for any that may be incorrect and oversees the naming of roads or streets. The process for having a house number issued involves turning in a completed and signed application to the Equalization Department with a description of the parcel, including a diagram showing the structures and driveway with measurements indicating the distances from parcel boundaries.
