Emergency Grant
This program is to provide
necessary emergency repairs.
Program
Requirements:

Must apply at DHS Emergency Repair
Program if a client (due to limited funds)

Must be low income (50% median or
less)
-
Minimum 1 year residency of property
needing home repair

Must be owner-occupant of property
-
Assets cannot exceed $5,000 in value
-
Maximum grant is $2,000
-
Property taxes must be current
-
Eligible repairs include electrical,
plumbing, heating and roofs
-
Minimum of 2 estimates from licensed
contractors (will accept 1 estimate if unable to get 2nd
in a timely manner, depending on the nature of the emergency)

Homeowner is not permitted to do own
work
