Medicare/Medicaid Assistance Program (MMAP)

Trained volunteers assist people age 60 and older with questions regarding Medicare, Medicaid, supplemental insurance, and patient rights and appeals.  In 2005 - May, 2006 the major area of assistance is providing information on the Medicare prescription program (Part D) and answering supplemental insurance questions.  Medicare Part D is scheduled to began January 1, 2006 and area seniors are welcome to call the Commission on Aging if any questions arise after the enrollment date.
