BidCorp

In July 2008, Newaygo County began using the public auction site, BidCorp.com, to sell surplus items such as vehicles and office equipment. Newaygo County is one of several public institutions, including the State of Michigan, to use BidCorp.com for this purpose.   Online public auctions have grown in recent years as counties, cities, states, and schools search for an efficient way to dispose of surplus equipment.

Previously, surplus items were sold by soliciting bids through ads in the local paper. This worked for higher value items such as vehicles, but lower value items usually weren’t sold because it would cost more to publish advertisements than could be raised by their sale.  BidCorp.com is a more cost effective solution because there isn’t a fee to post items on the website and the items are made available to a wider audience.

Potential bidders are advised to view items prior to bidding. Items for sale can be viewed by leaving a message for the Newaygo County Maintenance Supervisor at (231) 689-7008, who will return the call and schedule a viewing appointment.  Registration to bid on items is free.  If a bid is successful, the bidder is required to pay the winning price and an additional 3.5% buyer’s fee.

Before bidding on any items, please read Newaygo County's Terms and Conditions.

To view items for sale at BidCorp.com, visit www.bidcorp.com , click on Auctions, then type Newaygo into the search bar.
